Description
This report contains the results of a literature search of published and archival sources relevant to the Lower Rock River Valley in Rock Island, Henry, and Whiteside Counties, Illinois. A total of 611 locations of cultural interest were identified including 121 previously recorded or collector identified prehistoric sites and 490 historic sites that were identified through documentary research. Funding and time constraints prevented field verification of all the data but it is sufficiently accurate for sue in modelling settlement preferences and behaviors.
