During the first two weeks of June, the Kansas Archaeology Training Program (KATP) excavated three depressions at the site of Ft. Ellsworth, an Army post situated at the junction of the Ft. Riley-Ft. Larned Road and the Smoky Hill Trail from 1864 to 1867.
