Three Island Crossing State Park
Elmore County, Idaho
Overview
Overland emigrants made this dangerous crossing of the Snake River at Three Island Crossing when the water was low. This crossing allowed emigrants to follow the northern route to Fort Boise which was preferable to the longer South Alternate route to Oregon.
Location
The site is at Glenn’s Ferry, Idaho about 72 miles east of Boise, Idaho, off I-84.
This is a state park open to the public and administered by Idaho Parks and Recreation.
