Spanish Trail and Rio Grande Railroad: Huntington to Green River (tour along the Old Spanish National Historic Trail on May 19-20, 2001)

OCTA and Utah Crossroads Chapter member John Eldredge led this tour along the Old Spanish National Historic Trail on May 19-20, 2001. This essential guidebook contains several maps of the area, and numerous photographs of important landmarks to help orient the modern-day traveler. The trail was a 1,120 mile long trade route that connected Santa Fe to the Los Angeles Basin during the Spanish and Mexican period of this area. The guidebook begins with a brief historical perspective of the trail by Steven K. Madsen and also includes excellent descriptions, quotes and site interpretation.
