Goulding’s gold rush journal details his adventures on a seven-month overland trek with the Knickerbocker Exploring Company of New York. The handwritten journal, part of the collection of the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript ibrary at Yale University, contains daily entries between February 18 and September 18, 1849.
