Overview

Also known as “Gate of Death,” or “Devil’s Gate,” this grouping of boulders known as Massacre Rocks was a landmark for overland emigrants following the south bank of the Snake River. The rocks were used as campsite and many emigrants carved their names on Register Rock.

Location

American Falls, Idaho

The site is about 10 miles west of American Falls and 36 miles west of Pocatello, Idaho off I-86 and U.S. 30.

This is a state park open to the public and administered by Idaho Parks and Recreation.
