OCTA/NPS Mapping and Conservation Easement Workshop Rescheduled for May 2021


The mapping and conservation easement workshop that was scheduled for June 2020 and postponed due to COVID-19 has been tentatively rescheduled for May 25, 26 and 27, 2021 assuming it will be safe to once again travel and assemble in a classroom. The workshop will be held at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

The first two days will be devoted to trail mapping including the latest technology and the third day a workshop on conservation easements. The mapping workshop is intended for those that have some experience in trail mapping. A partial list of mapping topics will include: MET Manual, Finding and Validating Trails, Trail Classification, Preparing Trail Maps, Mapping Software (Terrain Navigator Pro, ArcGIS, Google Earth), GPS Operations and Interface with Software, LiDAR, Research Resources, GLO Maps and Survey Notes, Map Overlays,  Survey Systems, Reporting and Archiving Maps and Data . . . and more.
