OCTA / About OCTA
Joyce Everett

Joyce was appointed Secretary when Bernie Rhoades left the position after four years of service.

She joined OCTA and the CA/NV chapter in 1998 after following a guidebook on the Carson River Route. Since the Chico Convention, she has participated in most CA/NV chapter activities and most conventions. With each trail outing, her interest in the overland emigrant trails has increased.

In addition to her involvement in OCTA, Joyce is also an active member of Trails West, Inc., and currently Vice President of that organization. She is a member of other historical societies. She also has a strong interest in railroad history and bluegrass music.

Before retiring in ‘05, Joyce mainly worked as a social worker with children and families through private and public agencies.
